III. Disciplinary Hearing Procedures
Within five (5) business days of receipt of a written complaint addressed to the Dean of Students, the Dean of Students (or her/his designate from within the dean of students office) will contact the witness to discuss the complaint. The witness is encouraged to describe the relevant facts, as well as his/her impressions and thoughts regarding the gravity of the incident, its implications, and consequences. Based on this conversation and all relevant information, the Dean of Students will determine whether the complaint warrants a formal disciplinary procedure. If the Dean of Students determines that a formal disciplinary review is required, then the Dean of Students and the Director of Student Affairs will appoint within ten (10) business days of the decision to move to a formal disciplinary hearing , the members of an ad hoc Honor Board.
